It keeps getting better:

PORT DICKSON: A group of fishermen found a life raft bearing the word “Boarding” 10 nautical miles from Port Dickson town at 12pm yesterday.
One of the fishermen, Azman Mohamad, 40, said they found the badly damaged raft floating and immediately notified the Kuala Linggi Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) in Malacca for assistance to lift the raft as it was very heavy.
"We managed to tie it to our boat as we feared it would sink due to the damages," he said.
When the MMEA boat arrived, the fishermen then handed over the raft into their custody.
However, a Kuala Linggi MMEA spokesman said the raft sunk into the sea while they were trying to bring the raft onboard.

I just hope it assists them to find the aircraft. I think there is a lot the public is not being told.

The above report is clearly not relevant as:
BEIJING (AP) — China's state media says Vietnamese authorities have detected signals from the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.

The Xinhua News Agency, citing a local Vietnamese media report, says a Vietnamese search and rescue official reported that the signals have been detected from the plane from about 220 kilometers (120 miles) southwest of Vietnam's southernmost coastal province of Ca Mau.

big, big sigh...:shock:!! I just feel for the relatives and friends of those onboard!

I asked this on Twitter earlier today but didn't get a response: what's the max attack angle & ceiling of a 777-200er, and is there a jet stream near where MH730 was?

That is not a 777 raft or slide.Already disproved on other sites.

Happy to try and answer but I can't as I don't understand the context.
Angle of attack is purely an aerodynamic consideration.
The ceiling can be found from the Boeing web site or even Wikipedia.
Jet streams are not always consistent so there may or may not have been one present.

It really is quite pathetic, poorly coordinated and impossible to understand.

SWMBO has come to the conclusion that the Malaysian Military via a massive error of judgement has shot the thing down. Given the performance of the Malaysian authorities and their pathetic attempt to create lines of enquiry here, there and everywhere - I don't blame her for thinking this way.

they would have no reason to shoot it down while it was on its planned track, sure once (if it did) changed direction it may be possible, but surely the Malaysian military would not shoot down a commercial aircraft for no reason. The reason why it stopped transmitting data would need to be known for this theory to be plausible.

Importantly the Air Force General said he did not say what was printed. He did not say that the radar information was wrong.Over on PPRuNe a fellow who was on the team investigating the aircraft involved in 9/11 said there was a lot of info they had that they were not allowed to admit to.However they were told to say reliable sources have indicated......I think the Malaysian reporter just forgot how to preface the information.
So this new report could well be correct.
