Has anyone stayed in the meriton in sydney?
What is it like? I booked it as its close to my conference and under my accommodation allowance for sydney :)

Hello AI-Exper and welcome to AFF!

I've stayed in the Meriton (Kent St) once about 2 years ago and I managed to pickup a 3 bedroom apartment (sub-penthouse) on the 71 st floor for just myself for $199/night on Wotif. Needless to say it was a sheer and utter waste of space but I felt like a King! :)

The apartment was very nice - spectacular views from all three bedrooms and the living room, dining room, spacious, clean, modern etc. The pools at floors 35'ish and 65'ish with city views are nice. They even have a free Internet computer room. The only problem I found was the number of asians always congregating around in the foyer and out the front. They would stand right in the middle of entrance/doors and just didn't seem to realise or care that people needed to walk/move through the area. Just inconsiderate...

Anyways good luck!

Kent street will be the one im staying in. A studio apartment though, as anything larger exceeds my accommodation allowance :)

I havent stayed in the one downtown but stayed in Parrmatta last november and was generally quite impressed - $99 for a single room suite, large "living" area, quiet, reasonable loaction etc.

Would happily go to another meriton based on that experience (and probably ahead of quest, mantra etc). I realise there is some variability based on location but still, overall quite impressed.

Just remeber it's an apartment, not a hotel and you'll be more than happy.

I've stayed at the Meriton Pitt St, World Square and also Kent St. Going by location, World Square is my favourite, followed by Pitt St and then Kent Street but the apartments all look pretty similar inside. I get 1br apartments as I prefer the extra lounge room. However more often than not I get allocated a Disabled Room when I stay at the Meriton Kent Street one ... and if not, then the apartment 2 doors away from the pool ... both of which annoy the bejesus out of me. But I agree they are good value for money and a good proximity to Darling Harbour.

I've stayed at Meriton Kent Street. Loved it! Very spacious and modern and just a stones throw from the Queen Adelaide Building, a Woolworths and Darling Harbour. It's a bit of a walk to the Rocks from there but if you go to Darling Harbour it's quick to catch a ferry to Circular Quay.

I have stayed twice at Meriton World Tower.

Had a 2 bedroom facing east on level 70 which was my first time and that was WOW!

Then the 2nd time I had a 3 bedroom facing west on level 66, very very large apartment indeed!

Pool, gym on level 62 is very nice.

I recently had a great time staying at Meriton Kent St. Meriton have a best price guarantee on their website. I found the cheapest price on wotif and then booked directly with Meriton.
