Membership upgrade and status bonuses effective immediately?

Hi,
Just wondering if you reach sufficient status credits to have your membership upgraded, whether subsequent flight sectors (same trip) receive status credits with the status bonus applied at your new membership level? Does it make any difference if it is a oneworld partner vs Qantas direct?

Also, is a discounted Malaysia Air business ticket going to earn status credits at the same rate as a Qantas business flight? Doesn't seem to suggest anywhere that this isn't the case...

The only difference is when the points post. I think CX posts on tues, so if they post and you hit a status target, you will go to the new status and start getting the status bonus. Domestic flights post very quickly.
