Instead of having people list what days they're flying as messages, wouldn't it make more sense if it was added to a calendar (pretty limited on here) or on a google calendar.

would be a lot easier to organise a meet up then trolling through the whole thread

You are possibly right but do you have an idea about how to do this.

I think this is a brilliant idea. I've got some ways it can be done, I'll work a few solutions out and post them in the next day or so.

i think google calendar is probably the easiest way. everyone really should already have a google account.

only downside is everyone that wants to edit the calendar will need to be added manually.
But i guess that wouldn't really be that much of a trouble. since you only have to do it once.

I think ba98 calendar function has been around for a long time. Handle was already taken so I do not bother using the website.

It would do. Just doesn't have the functionality for setting a time for the entry, which doesn't really matter I guess. Still beats wadding.

Currently the calendar has everyone's birthday (i'm guessing)
I've started it off with my trip on 29th in the format of Time Airport Terminal (that ok?) I guess you could add how many you could guest in at the end.

If your title only has CAPITAL LETTERS, the server automatically changes everything to lowercase.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Maybe we should decide the format in which they should be entered?

What goes in the title?

i wrote time in 24hr format. then the airport and terminal of departure

e.g. 20:45 SYD T2

maybe a new calendar could be created just for traveling dates so they don't get mixed with people's birthdays.

This has been discussed several times, but has not taken off (as it were :p).

I use ba97 ...

Brilliant idea! Much better than the thread, is very easy to see others who are travelling on the same day, lets roll with it and make it work!

As suggested by Pu, what would be wrong with using the calendar in the menu bar above?

It’s rather limited, I think I tried it in 2009… I guess the biggest issue is having a system that works well. Easy to enter data, edit data and access it to look for dates and lounge locations.

I wonder if there’s an extension that could be installed to the forum software?

I’ll give January a go in a sec anyway.

I’ve never found the thread particularly hard, just "Find" a date or a place and check each match :p

Edit: Every time I enter BNE QP it makes it all lowercase… which pisses me off!

Also, dates need to be set within a time period, not as all day, or they appear out of order when looking at departure times… it’s quite complicated, and already looks cluttered.

I remember trying to champion the cause some years ago (after seeing it work well of FT and BA97), alas it wasn't met with the same enthusiasm as this attempt has (when looking at previous posters above). Thn again, I like looking through the list to see who's flying (on same date) and who I just miss

Perhaps it will fly this time...
