SHO NOODLE BAR - Crown Casino

munitalP 8/10

I have eaten here more than a dozen times, often like today, an impromptu lunch. We have eaten there with a larger group as well, each time, the service is a little slow to start, however, once up and running, the service is quite good.

There is a magnificent selection of Chinese tea available, and if in the mood, a full Chinese tea service can be had.

Today, Mrs munitalP and I had:

1. Peeking Duck
2. Curry Puffs

We also had ordered Singapore noodles, but cancelled that due to food quantity!

The Peeking duck was exceptional, the duck roasted to perfection and cut precisely. Approx 12 pancakes were provided, and was $28.90. Enough for two if having another dish.

Curry puffs - served steaming hot, hand made with a delicate pastry - a crumbly pastry rather than the usual spring roll type pastry. Exceptional as well.

We added 2 bottles of sparkling water and one fresh orange juice - total bill $50.00

Come back - absolutely!

From previous visits, I can recommend the Tom Yum, the Thai Green Curry and the Singapore fried noodles.

An excellent review I found on Google

No. 35 - Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

9/10

Was surprised on my last stay to discover that it was my 50th stay at the hotel!

Service was excellent. The right blend of formality and familiarity.

Natural Oysters (Coffin Bay) Entree
Waygu Beef Main

+1 Oysters Entree with Kingfish Main.

Both courses were awesome. I always enjoy the Amuse Bouche and it's nice to have a kitchen that is well aware of my allergies.
