Air Asia X has some very sharp fares on its new AVV-KUL route for travel next year. Fares start at just $150.50 return for Y. (That fare is just $24 return after taxes!) Obviously this price doesn't include bags, meals etc.

Premium Flatbed pricing is also excellent at $850.50 return for what is a pretty decent product.

Here's an example of dates I found:

Great research, although adding the 'value pack' for luggage may increase the cost quite a lot, as you imply above.

Although the Airline Ratings site has recently said it;s changed its mind on Air Asia re safety, I have not. One of our key aviators has it on his 'no fly' list so that's advice I take.

There is much competition outside of school holidays and Christmas/ January, so legacy carriers can also be excellent value.

As a general comment, not trying to be fawning but you write very well. Many of your articles are enjoyable and give new information.

Great find. Can't normally fly one-way Canberra to Sydney for that rate!

A Malaysian friend of mine regularly fly's back home on Air Asia.
