Great news I think, flights SQ217 and SQ218 will keep the A380 year round, it had originally been temporary ending March 2017.

This is great news for those of us who book suites saver redemptions 12 months out...

Currently can only find the following link to the news which has no references.

I missed this news at first. Bloody fantastic news as I am sitting on a redemption booking in early April and a quick dummy book definitely shows the A380 on SQ217 and explains the email from SQ about a minor seat change. That's my last flight on an indulgent week's trip to London/Paris flying EY Apartment over and now SQ Suites the whole way home. Slot in lunch at the Fat Duck, Dinner at Epicure in Paris and a night in Reims (Champagne) whilst there and to say I'm counting the days is an understatement!!!!

Yes excellent news and ATPIT 217/218 the combo. 217 a great flt for 380 - 218 dep at 01:05/00:05 bit if a bummer if you want to enjoy full range R benefits - I did it yesterday and slept dep to arr so did not enjoy full benefits - such is life.

A Trip Report would be really appreciated by all and sundry, I'm sure. :)

Re: Melbourne to keep A380 year round

Very good news. I have an irrational affection for the 380, even though I'm stuck in Y when flying SQ.

Actually have a PVG-SIN-MEL return in a fortnight on SQ. Three of the four legs are on the 380. Very pleased.

not irrational since the A380 has about the best economy seating these days...till someone orders 11 across seating

Re: Melbourne to keep A380 year round

Great news, thanks for sharing. With SQ and EK, nice to have a choice of two A380 flights a day, distinctively timed in both directions, on the route - whatever the class.

Long way to wait for my 2018 Euro holiday sadly... Will have to try to squeeze a quick Asia trip in next year...

I was let down by the Fat Duck. Was ok but has to be the biggest miss from expectations to experience. This was about 4 years now though so hopefully it is better or it might even just be me and not them. Sounds like a good little trip :D.

re: Melbourne to keep A380 year round

From May 1, SQ217/218 is changed from an A380 to a A350. Not sure if this is a downgrade or an upgrade but has certainly affected my return into MEL on SQ217 after a RTW in F/Suites coming up in late March. As someone who much prefers day flights, there is now no F into MEL except overnight.

Looks like this is only until 30 June though. I guess it reverts to A380 again after that.

Also an additional A330 service from July 17 as SQ 247/248 on Mo.Fr.Sa. Ex SIN at 0200 arr 1125 returning 1240/1830.
