Melbourne to Europe in Business

For those looking, there is still occasional availability coming up. Just booked 2 x J reward with EY for mid-Dec 2023 flying MEL-LHR.

Hi all,

Am planning a trip to Europe for family of 4 and want to fly J return in 2024/25

I realise its tough to find 4 seats in J on same flights.

So, i'm considering either reward via KF with SQ (seems to be good availability), but may not have enough KF points.

Or would 4 x J on VA partners be possible? I can see 2 x J into Rome, Paris, Frankfurt on Qatar or Etihad, but never 4. Is it possible at all? Or not even worth searching?

Cheers

MD

Qatar or Etihad, but never 4
Qatar only release 2 J per flight. Etihad release 2 J at the start and more closer to the date of departure, but only at short notice (eg 15-30 days prior to departure) and subject to availability, so unlikely to happen in peak travel periods.

So SQ is your only realistic option. Needs to be booked 12 months out otherwise you'll miss out.

How about traveling as two groups of two? Might me able to get 2 people on Qatar and 2 on Etihad with similar timings. Or pay for flights to asia and then 4 rewards from there. Or search for 2 business and 2 premium Y on same flights.

I've done a little more snooping.

It looks like Etihad does release 4x J seats to/from Europe in advance, but Velocity only gets access to 2x J.

But on Velocity if you put in 4x pax:
