Afternoon all. I'll be spending a two night in Melbourne in the peak of winter and have one night already booked at the Ritz Carlton (care of Amex FHR credit). I can't justify a second night there but there seems to be an ample choice of reasonably priced alternatives (presumably because it is the dead of winter).
Would be fun to try another higher end hotel. Sofitel, W, Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt & Crown Towers/Metropol are all currently similarly priced (~$300).
I was leaning towards the Park Hyatt, but some photos make it look a bit dated. Is it still worth it for the experience compared with the others at this price point? I’m curious whether that’s just aesthetics or if it genuinely feels older as a stay.
Otherwise, any recommendations? I was also looking at the Hyatt Centric which seems quite well reviewed (and is half the price).
