I booked using frequent flyer points and I have a few questions about my trip in July.

Travelling Mel - Sydney - do I have to collect my bags before transferring to international.

Sydney to Haneda - as a transit passenger do I have to collect my bags and re check in? as I am changing from Qantas to JAL.

Do I need to gain a Japan entry pass?

Travelling JAL - Chicago - How can I select a seat?, Is it possible to get an upgrade Premium economy to Business with JAL

I am in Haneda for 6 hours any ideas on what to do?

Any information will be gratefully received.

Sometimes JAL sells last-minute upgrades at the airport. For the HND-ORD leg, it might be to the tune of $600 or $1,000. But, they may not be available even if the sign is at the counter but, of course, it's worth asking if you can visit a JAL transfer desk at the airport (or visit a JAL lounge entry). I have been unsuccessful in buying upgrades but no harm asking...

Haneda as an airport may not be the most inspiring one. If you have the time and want to pop into the city for a quick visit, it might be a nicer way to spend time. But do reserve enough time for the passport control both ways and security when coming back to the airport.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
