Not sure what 0!05 means. If you mean 0105 she would be best off checking into a hotel. The international terminal adjoins the domestic terminal; it is a 150m walk.

All the terminals are connected, suggest grabbing a room at the Holiday Inn or Ibis or Parkroyal.

0105 sounds like EK408.

The international terminal and the domestic terminals are really different arms of the same building. When walking out of international arrivals, turn left then go up an escalator and she will be in the QF domestic terminal (which will be deserted at that time of night and stay that way until passengers for QF400 start arriving). There will be no issue travelling between the terminals at that hour, but there will be three or four hours with very little for her to do.

Would probably advise against the strange lonely and poorly signed walk to the isolated Ibis Budget at that time of the morning, plus having to negotiate the automated checkin / front door entry via credit card (no staff > 10 pm).

On top of that it is way over-priced for a bare-bones hotel. I recently stayed at a 4 star airport hotel in Asia for the same price as the Ibis at MEL charges.

The Parkroyal does short-term rates but not sure if that's only during daylight hours.

Not very hard. MEL is the best designed airport in Australia. None of that silly bus transfers between terminals like at BNE, SYD, PER, etc.
Just exit International arrivals and turn left. http://melbourneairport.com.au/docs/130531-t2-and-t3-(ground-floor)-map.pdf Go up the escalators and you end up here http://melbourneairport.com.au/docs/130604-t1-(first-floor)-map.pdf

You can count out Ibis, as they don't have staff present that late, and you don't have anyone to check you in, as that particular Ibis Budget is not 24 hours.
The Holiday Inn can be very $$$ at times, $230 mark, but can go down to $190.
Parkroyal will be the most expensive, and they don't have day rooms for the night.
Maybe, just maybe a Skybus to the city, and then one of the hostels there, 24 hour ones, if she is not an Australian citizen, all the better, as some hostels will not take Aussies, they are afraid of long stayers.
A 24 hour hostel from 3am to 5.30am, maybe not worth it, but its a safe place to be.
Granted I have not spent the night at Tullamarine, and its probably safe, ... but all depends I guess.

I've stayed in quite a few of the Melbourne hostels and researched/visited many others for a volunteer position I had with a non profit based in Melbourne. Many of the hostels in the CBD are quite... bad. The few good ones are almost always booked out.

My suggestion is to stay within the confines of Melbourne airport precinct. Nothing is open from 0100 until about 0500. Qantas domestics may be open around 0530. If you are hungry, you could walk to Maccas 24 hours shop, it is well sign posted and a foot path. Just be aware of the hawkers and sleazy taxi and hire car chauffeurs.

Prior to me becoming an Aussie, i stayed at a hostel in Perth, Billabong Resort.
If I was young, and not an Australian citizen, and wanted a party yahoo whizz bang sort of place, any hostel which had a place to lay down my stuff would suffice, dirty, clean, ick, or not.
But now that I am too old, and a lot of Australian hostels "say" they don't accept Aussies, hostels are out.
Thinking about it, the Skybus is nearly $30 return, airport to city to airport. Then pay for hostel shower, or just to sit in their lunch room, and then back to the airport again.
Do any of the ladies loos at Tullamarine (Melbourne Airport) have showers to at least freshen up?
I have seen one of the male side, (not a help to the OP's daughter), has a shower cubicle, with a shower head, and a spot to hang up belongings.
I think it was in the open zone somewhere.
Anyway, hopefully it all works out for the OP's daughter.
Maybe Daddy can give daughter a pressie by booking her into the Parkroyal!
