Meetup at Helsinki Airport.....Arrivals

In September, +1 will be arriving at Hel airport at 0530 from Icn and I will be arriving at 0545 from HKg, both on AY. Where can we we meet up eg a duty free shop pre immigration, at luggage collection or somewhere landslide?...we both have never been to this airport before so hoping someone familiar with this airport can suggest somewhere easy ...If it helps, we both will have data SIM cards so can call each other via WhatsApp etc

Where ever you meet it will be HEL.

Whoever gets their luggage first goes to the carousel for their partner's flight. Airport info says theres only one hall for baggage claim.

Alternatively first to land looks up what gate their partner's plane is scheduled to arrive at and loiters near there.

I also did that when I met up with my parents in HKG. If the luggage happens to come out earlier and you recognise each other's, you can even retrieve it and save some time?

HEL used to designate their terminals as T1 and T2. These days both are combined into one Terminal.

I think the Int flights generally arrive into the Gates numbers in the 40s

I don't believe any shops will be open at your arrival time.

Before immigration, I think a meet up place would be one of the duty free shops - maybe Burberry, Marimekko, Boss. But not Helsinki duty free as there are more than one.
There is a Starbucks as well

I landed at Hel very early at 0500 from Hkg and +1 from Icn also very early at 0506...the above place was not acccessible / locatable for international arrivals so I rang +1 and met her at the bottom of the escalator just b4 passport control, and we cleared inbound immigration together...

That might be right because it's in the departure hall while the non-Schengen arrivals would go via separate hallway network towards the passport control and transit security. But there's plenty of space at the start of the passport control area to wait.
