Booked an award flight with VA.. CHC-PER via MEL.

On the MEL-PER lag a meal was served to all, free wine and all seats had entertainment.

On the CHC-MEL leg, no seat-rest screens, meals and entertainment modules only handed out to those (I presume ) that paid extra. Not even ear-phones handed out although I did have my own to listen to the 1 channel available.

Wondering why the difference between leg, I would have thought that the International leg would have better perks than the Domestic.
And IMHO, award flights, on all legs, should have meal and entertainment.

flights to/from Perth include complimentary meals and drinks. Virgin are slowly rolling out drinks/snacks on other legs domestically, but trans tasman is all paid-for.

Services from Perth to the East Coast are an all inclusive service (i.e. food, beverages, entertainment etc). Trans-Tasman services are the old style where you only get what you may for (i.e. saver gets nothing, Flexi gets food and entertainment etc).

I am guessing you had a standard economy rewards - so the services you received were correct.
