100s hit by Coast Jetstar

Passengers heading to Melbourne on Thursday at 1pm on the low- cost carrier had to endure a seven-hour wait.
That flight was eventually cancelled and passengers were told to return to the terminal at 9am yesterday.

No wonder I prefer DJ.

Taking the article to be true - i.e. it was a glitch - all of the carriers have had those, including DJ of late.

The difference is how the hell could JQ take a whole day and one cancelled flight to clear a backlog? It not like there's umpteen flights a day to and from MCY.

Could have been one of the pieces of hardware onsite at MCY ie a router. Would then only affect MCY and depending on its role, stop the JQ techos from gaining remote access to resolve the issue.

I have also witnessed TT at MCY manually checking in due to a "glitch".
And yes the 7 hour delay seems very suspect.JQ usually have 2 MCY-MEL flights a day.Since the beginning of the year one has usually been cancelled.
