Didn't actually go ahead with the option.

I have done I-D at BNE once before but QF ground crew royally bungled up the bags so I'm not sure if that's indicative of normal experiences (bag didn't come out for 1.5h).

Not sure what happened that day, but our whole plane didn't get baggage and even the QF ground staff couldn't figure out what was going on (they were on the walkie talkies) as some people started missing their connecting flights.

Flight from VLI was 45 minutes late departing today, making our time now 2.5 hours to transfer instead of 3.25

All went smoothly, International did not seem that busy.
BUT, it still took 1 hour 40 minutes to get to the Domestic J Lounge.
• First off the plane
• 10 minutes for e- passport
• 20 minutes for priority baggage - came out after all economy
• another 10 mins waiting for oversize
• Customs queue 10 minutes
• another 10 minutes to queue to exit
• 10+ minutes to do bag drop ( priority line)
• Bus was there (luckily received text our flight to MEL is delayed by 40 minutes)
• 10 minutes on/off bus
• Take to oversize 5 minutes at domestic
•Domestic security an absolute shambles
15 minutes
• Finally in the J Lounge

Add a bit of salt to the Zucchini soup and is ok
