Mayfair hotel in Adelaide to become a Kimpton

This is a pretty nice hotel already so will be interesting to see what they do to it

Adelaide’s heritage-listed Mayfair Hotel is set to be rebranded under IHG’s Kimpton in 2026, following the signing of a management agreement between the hospitality giant and owners Ark Capital.

I love Mayfair. I have stayed there a fair number of times before. I preferred it over all other hotels in Adelaide, and yes including IC. It makes sense that it becomes Kimpton in the portfolio.

Also enjoyed staying at the Mayfair a few years ago. Looking forward to checking it out as a Kimpton come Mad March 2027

I stayed there a few years ago. Loved the hotel but hated the bed. It was a thick memory foam that made it really hot as you sunk deeply into it.

I complained and they looked at me like I was the problem and said it was a special bed made specifically for the hotel that was so popular they patented it and were selling the bed to guests after their stay!

I couldn’t stay there again purely because of the bed, even though I loved the hotel.

Now seems to be operating as an IHG brand going by the e-mail I received yesterday:

What's next? Mayfair Hotel will continue to welcome guests until the end of April 2026 before undertaking a creative transformation, unveiling in the second half of 2026 as Kimpton Mayfair Adelaide – Australia’s second Kimpton, and South Australia’s first.
