Maximum time before check in for domestic flights departing international gates?

Hello there,

I was hoping I could glean some info from the collective brains trust here.

I am looking at a little weekend away in October flying Sydney to Adelaide and return. I'm looking at QF81 ex Sydney international to Adelaide before going on to SIN.

Given it's a domestic flight for me, but out of an international port, is there a maximum check in period beforehand?

I'm quite interested in making the most out of the F lounge, although at that time of day the drinks trolley may be strictly guava and apple ;-)

I'm not sure how many hours (someone here will though) but I can tell you as a WP, if you didn't have checked luggage you can go in up to 8 hours before!! You would have to checkin online though.

I believe with checked luggage it's 3 hours but someone will need to confirm.

4 hours was the limit when checking in for QF1 in SYD earlier this year. But I would suggest the maximum is 24 hours when you can do OLCI.

Now having just got off QF81 in ADL today I'm not entirely sure it's worth the hassle. You can have, what 5 hours for breakfast in the first lounge (does it open at 6am) and then 15 to 30 minutes for lunch.

I had ~4 hours in the First Lounge in June. I was bored after the first hour.

Fast forward to my trip to AKL last week and I had ~50 minutes in lounge. Just about perfect time to spend in the lounge without getting too bored.
