A couple of years ago there was an episode of South Park which parodied Russell Crowe ,the plot involved Russell Crowe hosting his own tv show devoted to 'fighting round the world" ,if Newton carries on the way he has been for much longer I can see South Park creating a Matthew Newton version!.
Seriously the guy needs help before he gets in any deeper trouble.

I wouldnt have thought he was famous enough in the US to score a South Park parody.

I would have thought he should come back to Australia, be around family, and seek help (again). But maybe he's restricted from returning whilst on bail etc.

Maybe not now but he needs help before he does something that makes him famous enough.
I agree that he needs his family around him and needs to get the assistance he so obviously needs,I hope for the sake of him and his family that
he can turn his life around before it's too late-if it isn't already that is.

Mental illness can be very scary for folks around him. I hope they can do something in the US to control him and get him some appropriate health management.

Perhaps I am just cynical but I think Newton's real mental problems is Delusions of Grandeur. I know someone who knows him personally and his ego is completely out of control.

The fact that he is off galavanting around the US just shows us all that he isn't serious in getting help.

This guy with a lack of any acting skill, average looks but the right surname has really used up all his chances. However I suspect when he does get back to Australia, Daddy dearest and all his connections will get him more work...

Well on AM this morning a friend of his parents said that Matt has had no contact with his family for some time-he had walked out on them.

Believe it or not, it is incredibly difficult to find a Psychiatrist in Australia who will take on new patients. I know from personal experience. We had to call in lots of contacts recently to get help.

The hotel staff member is an older looking gentlemen, gets his glasses knocked from has face and then is jumped on and beaten while looking for them

Maybe he is mentally ill. However I notice that his mental illness has never driven him to try and beat up a beefy guy his own age. It's always been either women or older men.

Well on AM this morning a friend of his parents said that Matt has had no contact with his family for some time-he had walked out on them.

Bert Newton said he had not spoken to Matthew today, but had kept in close contact with his son in recent days.
