Masterchef in SYD Flounge - was anyone there?

If you are aware of the rules, you will know that public areas are ASIC display areas as well as secure areas. The same applies for MSIC as ASIC - of which I had both in my previous job as defence force contractors.

Reality check is - this is a TV show, it should not be exempt of the rules IMHO.
I doubt very much they would have been exempt from any of the rules. Any assumption or suggestion otherwise is just plain wrong, specially considering the money SACL would have taken from the filming, security and pre-clearance fees.

I'd put money on the fact this was organized months in advance, everyone on the crew had been fully pre cleared so they wouldn't be hindered in filming, and the stacks of equipment needed to pull this off would have arrived the night before to be screened and available and start work when needed.

Did anyone else get the impression that they hired actors to sit in the area just across from the kitchen?

I definitely recognised one of the guys sitting there. His face was very clearly shown twice during the show. He is the same guy that Qantas has on the web site explaining the next generation check in system.

Faster, smarter check-in

I've seen him presenting segments in various unrelated TV shows occasionally too.

QF should have tee'd up some people from AFF to be "extras" now that would have been a great PR exercise with us! I would have been happy to dust off my acting abilities!!!
