Given the recent merger of Marriott and SPG, I am looking at their Marriott Travel Packages in detail. It does have some great deal. I am looking at converting Amex MR points to SPG then to Marriott reward points.

I am looking at staying for 7 nights at Tokyo later this year, I am looking at purchasing the travel packages which gives me 7-night reward certificate plus a whole bunch of airline points of choice:

Flight and Hotel Packages | Marriott Hotel Packages

I am looking at Cat 8 Marriott hotels (either Tokyo Marriott or The Price Sakura Tower Tokyo) so I am looking at 360000 Marriott points ( = 120000 Starwood Points = 240000 Amex Points). This would get me 7 nights free on Cat 8 hotels, plus the following option of airline miles:

- 132000 United Mileage Plus
- 120000 BA Avios, or AA Advantage Miles, or Alaska Miles, or Delta Skymiles, or VS Virgin Atlantic
- 85000 Qantas Points, or SQ Krisflyer, or CX Asia Miles, or EK Skywards Miles, or EY Etihad Guest Miles, or Avianca LifeMiles

At the moment I could not decide which airline miles to get, as I still have a large bunch of AA, QF and VA miles.

The question is, which one would you choose and why?

Your BA executive club membership number should be clearly visible once you log in. Yes to travel package 1 and call the number above to confirm everything before signing up. If you haven't read the guide over at Pointshack here it is:

i signed up a BA account https://www.britishairways.com/travel/viewaccount/inet/en_gb , but i can't find a member number..? am I at the right place to redeem travel package 1?
Also just confirming we need to call [h=4]+11-800-321-7396[/h]to book the travel package?

when I first signed up I only signed up to BA.com and it wont give you a number, you need to join the Executive Club and have to put in a non-Australian address

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Didn't know they had a Sydney number as I was looking to update my details and had to call their UK number. Their redemption is amazing for short-haul business class. Will definitely go well with United for flights to SEA and Avios for everywhere around SEA.

For J seats on PER-SYD-PER (37.5K one-way), it is cheaper to redeem as PER-MEL-SYD-MEL-PER (29K one way) on Avios. One of the quirks of redeeming 2 shorter segments than 1 longer segment.

Not sure how you're getting 29k in J with this routing PER-MEL-SYD-MEL-PER it's more like 58k if my calculations are correct it's more 20+9+9+20=58k

hello experts,

new to this flight and hotel package, and trying to get the most out of it..with the current Avios promotion, most likely i will be opting for that..
anyone can share once redeem, how does the airline points (with bonus) and hotel cert be 'delivered', im guessing the points will take few days to be in the Avios account and the hotel cert will be in the email ??

thanks

The certificate is attached to your account. You can see the expiry date when you log online. To book, I've found the easiest way is to call up and request a booking using the certificate.

Anyone know how long transfers between Marriott and BA takes with the travel package, want to get in before the bonus deadline.
Thanks

Anyone manage to get the elusive 5 nights flight + hotel package. Think that one offers better redemption @ 235k Marriot Rewards points if you are able to get it.

No, I tried calling them using the Australian number, UK number and Hong Kong number, all agents insist they can only book the 5 night travel package for timeshare members.

I tried redeeming a travel package and gave my avios number and on their end it is coming up as invalid. Maybe there is a waiting period or something.. I will miss out on this promo :*(

I'm wondering whether your details and Marriots details have to match up. Curious as I'm looking to redeem that package also.
my details are the same on both accounts, she just said it was an invalid avios number or the system was saying it was invalid. But I had double checked and the number is correct.

Probably something needed to be transferred through and it just hasn't happened yet..
