Marriott International has signed a new franchise agreement with Jape Group to debut a 100-room hotel in Timor-Leste, expanding the group’s presence in Southeast Asia.
Construction for Courtyard by Marriott Dili is set to commence in 2027, with an earmarked opening in early 2029.
“We’re excited to be working with Jape Group to bring the Courtyard by Marriott brand to Dili and secure an inaugural foothold in a new market. Timor-Leste is one of the youngest countries in Asia, and one of Australia’s closest neighbours, so today’s signing is an important strategic advancement for Marriott International, and for Timor-Leste.” Marriott International’s Vice President of Hotel Development Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Richard Crawford said.
