Marriott Bonvoy Preferred Partnership With KrisFlyer - KF Silver Fastrack

I'm not sure if the T&Cs have changed in the last 9 months but I did a platinum status challenge last year and Homes and Villas stays did not count. See excerpt from email received from Marriott. View attachment 375048

I couldn't see any clauses like this in the KrisFlyer promo.

On the Marriott side, the KrisFlyer partnership terms define “Participating Properties” as "hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy" (noting that usage of the word 'hotel' could be problematic)

On the SQ side, their FAQ just states "For a list of hotels and brands participating in the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio please refer to the Marriott Bonvoy Programme terms here."

Referring to those general Bonvoy terms, Homes & Villas is a participating property/brand - excerpt below.

1.2 Participating Properties and Brands

1.2.a. “Participating Properties” are hotels, resorts, and other transient stay properties operated under the brands below that are owned, managed, franchised, licensed by, or having other agreement with Marriott International (“Participating Brands”) and are bookable through Marriott Channels unless otherwise stated (see 1.2.b.). Residences properties (“Residences”), whether offered as whole or fractional ownership, as serviced apartments, or condominiums, are by nature, not transient stay properties and therefore, do not participate in the Loyalty Program unless otherwise outlined below. The Participating Properties and Participating Brands include:

xx_v. Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy – short-term home rentals provided through https://homesandvillasbymarriott.com have limited participation in the Loyalty Program as outlined in Section 8 of these Program Rules and in the HVMB Terms of Service. Members who book through the HVMB website are subject in all respects to the Program Rules and the HVMB Terms of Service.

There's nothing I could see in Section 8 of the Bonvoy terms or the HVMB terms which could be problematic.

It could indeed be different for the Krisflyer challenge. You're probably best emailing Bonvoy and getting something in writing from them. I've found they are normally pretty responsive.

I have sent the below email and will update with a response once received

Hello Bonvoy Support,

I am a Marriott Gold Elite member (<redacted>) and also hold Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Elite Gold membership

I am interested in undertaking the Bonvoy Platinum Elite Accelerator as part of the recently announced KrisFlyer / Bonvoy partnership, and would like to confirm that Marriott Homes & Villas stays are eligible to meet the 'Qualifying Nights' definition for this program.

Per the KrisFlyer partnership accelerator terms published on Marriott.com:

For purposes of these Preferred Partnership Rules, a “Qualifying Night” shall mean a night as part of a stay at a Participating Property where the Joint Member pays a Qualifying Rate, provides the Joint Member’s Marriott Bonvoy Account number upon booking, at check-in or before checkout, and personally stays in the reserved guest room. A “Qualifying Rate” is the rate a Marriott Bonvoy Member pays for a stay in a guest room at a Participating Property which qualifies to earn Points or Miles (as defined in the Marriott Bonvoy Program Rules).

And from my reading of the Bonvoy Program Rules, Homes & Villas would be considered a Participating Property for the purpose of the clause above:

Could you please confirm in writing that my understanding of these terms is correct, and that Homes & Villas stays which are eligible to earn Points would count towards the KrisFlyer Platinum Accelerator Challenge?
