I'm going to be working in Manila for the next 2 months. Staying in the Fort (BGC) area. Any suggestions on restaurants/bars/things to do?

Also, would appreciate any suggestions of destinations for short weekend getaways from Manila.

Try eating at Aubergine; consistently very good food. There are quite a few worthwhile day trips; Tagaytay/Taal volcano, Pagsanjan, Corregidor Island, Subic Bay for starters.

Thanks, that restaurant looks amazing. I notice they only take reservations for 2+ people so will have to talk a colleague into going with me!

We had a seriously good Chinese feed at China Blue which is in the Conrad adjacent to the Mall of Asia. Also Blackbird which is in the old deco airport terminal building in the park opposite the Peninsular hotel was very good for contemporary European

An odd thing about Aubergine is that it is immediately above a Macdonalds outlet! You can have good fuin with people, telling them about the great night they are about to have, end then turning up at Maccas and see the look on their faces...

Haha, I just realised where it is. I can see it from my hotel room!
