Yep!!! I've had a dicey miner have a go on a flight from PER to MEL when the seat belt sign came on when we were on decent... shocking...
I didn't complain at the time... too shocked and not sure who to complain to...
In hind sight I probably should've...

So one of those "She said, he said" incidents and automatically we believe the woman's story.

Hmmm....

Well, the linked article (and that further on The Smoking Gun) says that the man has responded that something close to the incident may have happened, i.e. he could've made lewd remarks, and even made said contact (whether it was her knee or under her skirt is another matter). No reason for him to suggest these if it really never did happen, especially the contact.

The man is facing jail if he did actually grope, i.e. the hand went under the skirt. Seems the case revolves around that, possibly including whatever remarks he made, and whether the woman's actions may be provocation (but the last one is highly dubious - it'd be the same as claiming that victims of rape share culpability through provocation).

Why has it taken a year for this incident to front to court (and just the start of it, no less)? Or, has the media only just "caught up" with what's happening?

UpInTheAir:), yes you should've complained on the spot IMO.

I'm sure this is a recycled news article.. recall another thread about it here somewhere but couldn't find it with a quick search (oh and the smoking gun is blocked on my uk mobile due to adult content ... must remove that! )

I to seem to remember a similar thread when I saw the article and posted it, but didn't find it. I'm sure someone else will find it if need be.

the afp or cabin crew would be where you report a suspected crime onboard a plane. If in the air, contacting cabin crew should elicit an afp response when landing at an Australian airport, or an international response elsewhere.

Airlines know (generally) who sits in which seat, so any crime is not really an anonymous one.
