So after an hour on the phone to Expedia, they have kindly honoured the 10% discount (~$1300 AUD back in my pocket). Just thought I'd let anyone know if you've booked through Expedia recently.

Alex where are you staying in Maldives. I might need to find accommodation for next year.

After about 2 weeks of research I came to the conclusion of Baros Island. It might not be everyone's flavour but it ticked all the boxes for us. It's also #5 on Tripadvisor for all of Maldives.

In the end with Expedia paid $14k (after 10% discount) for 8 nights in Jan (3 nights in a deluxe beach villa, and 5 nights in a water pool villa). We made about $1.2k in points for future Expedia bookings so my final tally is ~$13k.

Will take about $3-4k spending money (US$ is pretty poor right now) :)

F class flights through SQ also saved us a ton of money as the taxes came to about $1600 (vs Y commercial fare of $3200).

wow $1.8k per night for a room! Think that's a bit rich for us but if you have the money why not. How were you able to secure F class seats with SQ. When I checked they were only offering J class. How many points did you have to redeem for that?

It's a Honeymoon - so we splurged a little. :)

Ring them up and you can do it over the phone (F to SIN, J to MLE). 348,500 SQ points in total.
