Flew BKK-KUL-SYD business class including flying on their new A330-900 neo. On the Sydney leg. We do the j class SYD-BKK route twice a year.
My partner and I purchased Syd-BKK rtn J class tickets for $3700 QF wanted $5800.
I’m sorry Malaysian we thought we’d give you another try but there is no way to put this your service levels are dismal.
I was looking forward to sleeping on the 8 hour leg, amenity kits come out an hour into the flight , no ear plugs and yes you need them because the plane is quieter you can hear everyone snoring or on their phone. I asked two different attendants for ear plugs and was ignored, twice! The worst part is after skipping a midnight dinner I thought breakfast after a sleep would be great. Breakfast started to be served 3 hours 5 minutes before landing in Sydney! So 3 hours 45 mins sleep for me. The new a330-900 is quieter but for a side sleeper the distance between the bed and the tray table will make it unworkable for most people. It’s such a pity their new plane looked great but the service level and functionality is terrible. To make matters worse we arrive in SYD and they lose my luggage. The service desk says my luggage arrived at Sydney airport but they can’t find it.
So now looking at prices booking our next SYD-BKK rtn J class fare MH has it for $3370, QF $5900 and there is no way I’d fly Malaysia ever again. I hope this helps somebody.
