Re: Malaysia Airlines to cease operations to AMS and CDG

Disappointing for those of us who like flying to the continent without a stopover in the UK.
Fewer and fewer alternatives to transit in DXB/AUH.

Re: Malaysia Airlines to cease operations to AMS and CDG

it will be interesting to see whether they rationalise their australian destinations further - I imagine a fair percentage of their passengers ex Australia have onwards connections to europe. I imagine demand would drop significantly if you had to do Aus - KUL- DXB - Europe

Code sharing may see MH get through a difficult patch.

Just fly QF/EK and transit through DXB. A no brainier, sorry.

A no brainier indeed.
As I implied in my previous post, not all of us are excited at the prospect of a transit through the UAE.

Only 2 destinations .... Meanwhile CX and SQ are expanding a little giving some other alternatives ... So loss of MH services to CDG and AMS is fairly small ... Wait until TG gets serious about rationalising routes. (.... If they ever do ...). That may cause some grief. But obviously not for those in the OW camp.

More alternatives with CX will be good. The fees on their award seats are reasonable. But J fares on MH have been a good buy.
