I spat my dummy at checkin at Bangkok Airport.I won my upgrade bid to Australia so to use the 40Kg luggage allowance I bought X2 Bronze Statues at 10Kg each.Together with carry on bag and bag full of cloths I expected to complete the trip with one carry on for the stop in KL.Only to be told I could only check in X2 bags.Too late to pack the X2 Bronze Statues into one so completed the journey carrying X2 bags .As I have a bad back I was not happy and thought it was logical and better all round for baggage crew to load X2 10KG then one 20Kg.

But it clearly states the allowance is for 2 pieces that weigh up to 40KG in J.

Hey
Thats what the check in Lady said.Being my first trip in Business Class I presumed it was more then Economy without reading the fine print. Now that I know in hindsight I would have boxed the X2 bronze as one 20Kg parcel.
Cheers Stump

Buyer beware - luggage allowance differs from airline to airline and even between routes amongst the same airline.

Best to check the allowance before turning up at the airport.

Would luggage wrap have done the trick? Side by side and wrap them together for THB150.

I tried that and now due to security reasons you can only wrap one bag at a time and not X2 bags together!Maybe if I had a roll of gaffer tape I could have wrapped the X2 together and take down to over size luggage to check in.
