Just a short trip report to let others see what Malaysia Airlines are currently doing in Business Class.
Sorry no pics for the KUL to BKK flight - only had pics of the Radisson hotel Bangkok which I will also include.
MH138
Boeing 777-200
ADL-KUL
1530-2015 7hr 15min
Saturday 7 November 2009
Seat 2K
This is my first flight on Malaysia Airlines and took advantage of MH's great Economy Plus airfare deal where you get to fly Business Class with nearly all the perks for the price of a full fare Economy ticket.
Sorry but unfortunately there are no pics of Adelaide airport or Qantas Business lounge but am sure they can be found on Airliners net somewhere.
Checked in using the Business Class line - no one in front of me where Economy Class line had about 20 people or so waiting and shuffling to check in. With the Economy Plus deal I was only allowed 25kg instead of the usual 30kg with Business Class but I was well under that allowance.
Went straight to the Qantas Business Lounge where the Lounge Dragon took my lounge Invitation and pointed to the entrance (she was actually quite friendly and helpful but don't tell Qantas that as they might get rid of her!
)...there they had the usual snacks and drinks available - it seems that everyone there was on my flight - there was about 10 of us in all and spread over the lounge but it still looked very empty.
Malaysia Airlines operate Boeing 777-200 out of Adelaide and they seem to be kept in good condition - sorry I didnt take note of the aircraft registration - tried to take a pic but it's not that clear.
Ready for boarding
Once boarded I was shown to my seat by the FA and offered a pre-take off drink - I chose the Mango Juice (also had apple juice too) as I dont drink alcohol so not sure what the Champagne Drappier Carte D'or NV tasted like. Take off was nice and smooth - find most Asian carriers have smooth take offs and landings.
View of Adelaide Airport with the city centre in the background.
View of Port Adelaide.
Dried salt lakes in the Australian Outback.
end of part 1
