Majority 'don't trust' female airline pilots

Being a lady of course, I would LOVE to fly a plane, however noticing the way I drive a car, I'm not sure it would be a good idea!

I can actually make the same comment about my driving, despite being a guy. I drive rather infrequently now, so I tend to hit things on a rather regular basis when given the steering wheel.

When I was in the industry years ago, pilots were hired based on "Hours and experience". That has changed. Today the airlines are looking for computer operators with some flying experience. Females fit the new scope quite nicely.

Hey Beach Babe, and all the other delightful ladies on this forum, get up Marcus and the boys who feel they can run these forums. But please count me out as I am still living in the past with 'wasp' motors, or the new fangled F-27 100 series turbo-props. I love hearing the deck crew talk to us with a lovely female voice, but worry about some "He/She/Billy Billy boys who fly some Asian Routes, (read the old day's of the 60's/70's in SIN)
Go you girls, I'll be down the back pigging out on the freebee's with full trust!

I’m the first British female test pilot. When I went to the Empire Test Pilot School to study, they were convinced I am either the only, or one of the very few. I do have a female colleague in Hamburg, who's French, and we fly together quite a lot, which is fantastic. I really don’t think about being one of the very few women in the crew, it honestly never crosses my mind.


It feels great to be where I am, I feel very privileged to be in this position as I’m only 32, the youngest test pilot they’ve ever hired. I’ve got a lot of friends in Toulouse now and I get to see them two or three times a month, which is great.

I doubt this is a real survey. Just a fishing article. Look at every online survey and thread on the issue. No-one actually cares.
