Hi all,

I am currently on 840 status credits with a anniversary date of August 31.

I am off to Europe in August and returning in September (into new membership year)

My flights are

7th-8th August
SYD - BKK in J = 120 (Qantas MASA)
BKK - DOH - MAD (Qatar Ailines in J) should be 200
MAD - Porto on Iberia (IB flight number but Air Nostrum metal) should be 10

18th August
Lisbon to LHR - Edinburgh in Y with BA should be 25

22nd August
Edinburgh - LGW - Malta in Y on BA should be 30

That gets me to 1225 and keeps me WP for another year.

Question is can I expect to get all teh non Qantas flight status credits credited before my anniversary roles over? If they don't will I keep my WP as I have fown all these segments in the current year to maintain it?

Anyone elses experiences would be appreciated.

You will have flown the flights before your anniversary date, so they will count towards this year's qualification. If they don't credit by August 31, give QF a call so you can still be WP for your flight home. Keep all your boarding passes - I take photos of mine before they get stamped/torn in half/lost in the bottom of my bag.

QF have a local UK phone number and may well have one in Malta as well.

OT: Enjoy Malta, I have just come back from a few days there are thought it was great.

You should be fine - I have had a similar situation a few times, and even when the status credits from other airlines have taken over a week after my anniversary to be credited to my account Qantas have made the adjustment and they counted to the correct year.

Thank you Jessica.

I visit Malta every two years to see my wife's family. Absolutely love it there but I am bias now.

IME - BA flights post fairly quickly, so 9 days from the 22nd should be plenty of time.

Not always. After SYD-LHR on BA we had to post query with Qantas after 30 days and no acknowledgement. Took another week.

Noice. It is now on my "must visit again when I go back to Europe" list - along with Paris, Berlin, Florence...

Apologies if this is too far off topic, but I was just reviewing my status reassessment date as I am about to go from Platinum to Gold, having accumulated only 970 SC's for the current membership year. To my pleasant surprise I have been maintained at Platinum for another year, having confirmed that by calling the FF service centre. I have three weeks left until my reassessment date. The representative advised that it doesn't happen in consecutive years though, so next year I still have to make the total.

I know that QF are doing it tough at the moment, but it was a nice touch to shore up my loyalty. I also noted that it's been a neat 20 years since joining. I hope I will be able to maintain my loyalty to QF given that I no longer reside in Australia and their international routes are becoming increasingly scarce throughout Asia.

This may help out, depending on where you are.

Qantas hasjust announced a new codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways, with the movesaid to significantly improve travel options for QF customers travelling acrossSouth East Asia.Subject toregulatory approval, effective from 30 Mar Qantas customers will be able tobook on Bangkok Airways services ex Bangkok and Singapore to coughet, ChiangMai, Chiang Rai, Krabi and Ko Samui. Passengers will be able to earn Qantasfrequent flyer points on the Bangkok Airways flights and have their luggage checkedthrough to their final destination..

Apparently I can't link you to any sources because of my post count but you can google it up pretty easily.

Typically, QF will not sell you a seat on a codeshare for an overseas domestic segment unless you're travelling as part of a QF international itinerary (ie, you can't book an AA flight LAX-SFO on a QF code, unless you've flown in on QF to LAX or similar).
