Maintain Velocity Platinum - how long for you?

Done! Flight DJ878 on Tuesday will push me to 800 Status Credits today & therefore Platinum re-qualification ... not bad in 4 months and 26 days considering in that time I also managed to pool 215 SCs to my partner and I am also only 75 SC away from re-qualifying for QF WP.

A quick question while not strictly on point someone may know:

I have a family holiday on DJ/VA to FIJI booked and we have paid for 6 seats. One is an "extra" so can't get points/SCS for the 6th seat.

Does anyone know how the family pooling works.

If I pool the extra 4 Velocity family members' seats into my account, will this count as 10 sectors for me - ie MEL-NAN-MEL - 2 for me and then 8 from other family members?

Has anyone tried family pooling - is this how it works?

for those who were status matched, can you please tell me what happens to the 4 comp fare upgrades when you hit the 800 requal threshold?
Do u get 4 more then or do you get them at the "status credits required to maintain by" date?
I need to know if i should use them or lose them. (or pool some points away until i'm closer to the review date)

You can get point and SC for the extra seat, just ring up and advise after the flight and they will credit to you.

Once you hit the flying required for requalification nothing happens other than "achieved" appearing against the status credits required.

No additional upgrades become available at that time, I assume that they will get added after the "review date" (i.e. end of your current membership year), for use in the following membership year.

Just requal in Platinum. It only took 7 months. I still have F return flights to Paris and J return to USA in the next 4 weeks. Should get me up to companion gold ....

Took me a little longer that a lot of you, but I maintained Platinum mid March after a status match at the end of August 2011. I notched up my 1000th SC on Tuesday 3rd April so finally feel like a genuine VA/DJ plat now. It has been, on the whole, a pretty reasonable experience too. Love the VA/DJ staff.

I made Platinum around the 25th of March, based on the double SC promo and flights booked/rebooked I'll be Platinum by the end of June, so 3 months

A few J flights with double SC MEL-OOL-MEL, MEL-BNE-MEL really help, plus 100SC's for transferring Amex points to Velocity

I am interested how I get treated as a Platinum now at the lounge and on-board.

Do the VA staff know your status? I know on Air NZ in J they stick up a printed sheet in the galley with everyones status, requests etc

Whats going on? Is it just a mishap..

Can show screen dump if need be. (I have enough SC to maintain)

If you read your account details it says:

Additional sectors required to maintain Platinum by <renewal date>[SUP]2 [/SUP] [SUP]2[/SUP] Eligible sectors will only be a part of your membership assessment from August 2012

From the explanation previously provided here by the Virgin rep I would not be too concerned. You could always ask the Platinum desk.

Either way im stuffed, cause i dont have time for any more qualifying flights before I move Overseas anyway, so will see what happens either way.
