Congrats... I reckon you should aim for IO ;)

There was an infographic posted at some stage that explained what you got and it seems totally worth the effort :p

LOL. Don't think our DYKWIA status is high enough for that!

That's a long flight..........

Take a look at Alaskan too, QF & EK should both earn points plus your status will be recognised on AA, BA, CX, and a number of other airlines. Plus their mileage currency is good value

Yes. Some have suggested that our brains are addled by too much flying but when your at the pointy end, it's an easy trip and lots of time in F. Sure 33 hrs door to door but that's what it used to take BNE to LHR or Europe in the older times. Plus one avoids LAX, long delays and domestic US airlines. Very good for tier miles as well.

Congratulations.

I love flying as much as anyone else but I found HKG-SYD a little too long even though I was seated in First.

I would much rather a whole lot of shorter flights than 1 longer flight. I achieve nothing by getting to my destination 2-3 hours earlier. The transit does me the world of good.

Congratulations.

But think of all the extra time you have for good F wines, johnK! :)
