Macquarie Bank takes over from HSBC

This year Masters will pass 2 billion dollars in sales.
Bunnings on the other hand have attempted to have product exclusives so they don't have to pay out much in price matching to their customers and keep healthy margins on everything.
The traffic jam into Adelaide airport to get to Masters and Ikea when they opened was interesting. Bunnings stores are mostly dark looking inside due to an unfortunate choice of interior colours of dark green and orange that needs fixing. The latest Bunnings in Castle Hill is lighter and brighter and lovely but to re-do the rest would be disruptive to a 7 day trader.
With Masters you can get 5% off with a Woolies/RAC/entertainment book plus a 1.38% rebate thru Pricepal and nothing from Bunnings.

I actually quite miffed that the issuer has failed to police the manipulation of the card by a fairly small but vocal minority.
They have , in the process of this disfunction , probably alienated and lost a much larger group of customers who just use the card for everyday shopping with an occasional high value purchase as a bonus.

I have no issue with the manipulators and would do the same if I paid tax , but you folks have killed the goose stone dead and are now stamping noisily on the carcass , scanning the middle distance in search of another opportunity.

I'm one of your "alienated larger group" who earned points through shopping. I don't see anyone stamping on carcasses.
It's all a game in the end :)

I got my new "Visa" today, also got a letter last week telling me they now "allow you to have additional card holders on the account" (previously told additional card holders were unavailable during transition period). They have offered me no additional card holder fee for life. I got my last ATO payment through no probs. Will prolly put next through it. I have anniversary in October, so i will wait until then to have a look around. Its pretty bad the change in points earn but all things considered its still better than the Co card you get with a bank AMEX in the short term. I dont want to apply for a new card all over again just yet.

Does Citi still issue these?

Don't know. SWMBO got the card via Investec (+ 100,00 QFFP bonus:D), she was going to bin it, however we might keep it in play for all NON Amex/ATO transactions. The 2x for foreign spend will also come in handy.

Looks like the fee waivers are still somewhat available. I'd thought they'd dried up, but it if it is annual fee free then the card is worth keeping for many people IMO.

I'd phoned up to cancel mine Sept or so before it switched to Macquarie and they told me they'd waive it... I got charged the new higher rate on my December statement. Just phoned up then and explained I'd been told it would be waived. They didn't seem interested in that, but did look and said I'd been a valued customer since 2009 (I think anyway) so they would waive it now.

Would have been nice if things had worked with the change over so I didn't need a 2nd call, but nice they are still doing it. It is rare for me to ever go over $2,500 a month with it (since I direct as much as I can to my Earth Black Amex), but I can always use my Earth Black Mastercard once it gets close to the $2500 limit on those rare occasions (not that 0.625 is much better than 0.5).

Thanks for that. I have this fee free for another 12 months, and I forgot about the 2 points per $1 on QF. Not that $2500 per month on QF will go far.

$400 annual fee though which is a bit exxy!

No doubt the motivation for signing up was the 100,000 QFFP ... plus the priority pass may come in handy. We have substantial monthly non ATO visa/m'card transactions - so the focus has now turned on retaining the 1p/$ uncapped!

Update: Having paid my last bill on 09 Feb, they have today, 18 Feb sent me statement one with the dreaded small print. They must have overlooked me there for a while.

My last payment just yesterday, does not have the very small print (online). I think I may have immunity. ;)

I've been using the Mastercard and the new Visa card simultaneously for a few days. As of this afternoon however it seems the Mastercard is inoperative.

They said the MC would work until 31st March. I'm guessing that's if you haven't activated the Visa card.

I shan't be activating mine ;)

Luckily I only have about 5 auto payments coming off this card so should be easy to tidy up. Goodbye 5 year cardholder relationship!
