Macquarie Bank takes over from HSBC

Just received my statement for the Plat card - no mention of point capping.

That's interesting. Was that issued after the 21st Or before and you received it via small mail? If it was issued after the 21st with no capping conditions, then maybe the capping is targeted.

If issued = end statement date .... it's 16/1/15.

Same date as me. The notification on the statements seem to start on the 21st Jan. If someone has a date after the 21 without the capping notification, then it may be targeted.

I have a HSBC application underway and can confirm that they no longer hold any personal information regarding WOW accounts. You will need to do ID check unless other HSBC accounts are held.

Ok, I haven't got a statement since the changeover as I haven't used the card. Got annual fee refunded prior to the switch too, so it's not due until around Sept/Oct. how do I log in to see if I am now capped (just to find out, I no longer use this card)?

Do I need various numbers and pieces of paper that will all be at home?

Re: The party is over

I just got my MasterCard WW Qantas EDR C/C statement.
Right at the end....... as from March statement the point earn is 1:1 up to 2,500 then 1:2
wonder how much a month the turnover on these cards will now drop ?
I'm looking at alternatives already, what about others

I cancelled mine, unimpressed by the $50 rise in annual fee for nothing but to service the silver donut.

Re: The party is over

How about this (there is another thread on it). 40K QF point sign on and free 1 st year?

This is the same as a CBA offer which I once had and closed after a year as it's not very good. The AMEX points are OK but there's the surcharging and lack of acceptance issues. The VISA is 0.5 QFF points per dollar spent - not acceptable.

Re: The party is over

There are a few cards around with 1pt per $1. Check out the Qantas credit card selector site. The days of $89 annual fees are gone with most around $200. There are some annual fee free for life's floating around but they dont seem to pay for ATO.

Re: The party is over

Hi
I have already got that one
The Amex rate is good but the Visa rate is still only 1:2
The secret is to find 1:1 for visa and card that works with the ATO
Anyone got any ideas or do we just pre pay our tax bills ? ( ouch!!)

Investec/BOQ Signature is good for 1/$ ... however, useless for ATO.

ANZ Black Visa is good but only @ .75/$

Re: The party is over

Bankwest World Mastercard, no capping, 1pt per $

I'm not sure the World Mastercard is still offered. It's mentioned in the cards PDS but not on the cards page. The highest Bankwest card seems to be the More Mastercard, capped at 400,000 points per year and $130 fee p.a.

yes i've acknowledged its not released yet for new customers, my mistake. It was available for existing platinum members by invitation. I suspect it will eventually be public released, but not yet.

Re: The party is over

Received my fee free for life Citibank Signature card on Monday.

Goodbye WoW card, it was fun while it lasted.

Can't wait to ring and cancel later today, wonder if they will tell me about all the "exciting changes that are coming to the card for our frequent flyers" like they did when I tried to get the fee waived.

Looks like this doesn't offer QFF points. Their Platinum Qantas Mastercard has an annual fee of $160 and only offers 0.75 points per $

Re: The party is over

I know they introduced a paper statement fee according to the website, but I haven't been charged despite still receiving paper statements.
