I would never sell the tags, they are worth their weight in Gold ... no, they are worth their weight in Platinum !!

You could easily sell the spares on eBay ;)

Certainly a possibility.

Once a year I send a friendly email to QF asking for a replacement for whatever reason, each time they send me a bunch of four.

Got a nice little collection running atm...

There's one bloke in W.A who has sold 4 Plat tags in the last couple of months netting > $100. Also has another couple of tags currently on offer, each currently ~$26.

Aaah the joys of ebay! Quick way to make some money ... Perhaps that is what I should be doing.

$100? Do people think it gives them WP privileges? Amazing. What's the saying? It's a crime to not let a sucker part with their cash? :)

Actually, there were 4 separate auctions, each averaging around $25.

Perhaps people want the appearance of status, purely don't know what they are, or are collectors.

Here's one of their current auctions:
Qantas Club Platinum Frequent flyer Baggage tag - eBay, Other Luggage, Luggage, Tickets, Travel. (end time 06-Mar-10 20:55:33 AEDST)

Nothing misleading in it.

Perhaps I should get into that sort of business and make some money ...

Oh, and someone (Qantas?) is still getting Qantas Club passes pulled from Ebay. Saw some up there recently that were pulled.
