So LH got over whatever issues caused them to put it off indefinitely last week then.

Departing SYD a few weeks ago our QF captain was positively drooling as he pointed out a CX freighter.

Re: Lufthansa 747-8 delivery, New New J pics and more

Pity i think i just missed a ride on one of these, am scheduled to fly IAD-FRA on about 30 May (booked several months ago) and i think one of these starts flying that route on 2 June or so...

This makes me so happy that the queen of the skies still lives on...

One of the little surprises is that the coughpit on casual glance looks almost identical to the B744 coughpit. I was expecting a B787 coughpit with 4 thrust levers (aka starting to use the "Airbus commonality")

I personally can't wait to fly in one myself...

I did see somewhere that there are elements that are similar between the 748 and 787 which will mean only minor training is required for pilots going between types.

Come to remember it was a show on fox not too long ago.

But most pilots would come across from 744s as they're phased out so would make sense to be similar to 744s.

IIRC the 787 was designed to be easily certifiable for 777 pilots.
