Lufthansa and Cathay codeshare

As explained on OMAAT.

Basically codeshares for LH into Australia and NZ; codeshare for CX on some European destinations.

I'm about to use a LH RTW which is using, not surprisingly, SQ for MEL-SIN, the prospect of using CX interests me ... although it would be longer and I'm not convinced CX J is better than SQ.

Alliances take another punch ...

Re: Lufthansa and Cathay codeshare

Only SYD, MEL, CNS and AKL routes at this stage from HKG for LH.

Alliances are dead already. Whilst I do not believe that any large airline will actually leave an existing alliance in the near future, I believe QR will be the last large airline to join one of the big three alliances.

Airlines can get all of the same benefits from individual 'partnerships' whilst limiting the additional costs that come with alliances (like FF benefits).

Re: Lufthansa and Cathay codeshare

I wonder if that will mean being able to use QF points to book LH or Life Miles to book CX codeshares?
