Notice how he never mentioned what flight he did a year ago or what aircraft he used? Neither did he mention at what point he tried to purchase the SYD-CBR airfare, and at no point did he mention what DJ where charging for a similar flight with similar ticket conditions \ features.

As for the comment that the gov't should step in I ask why? Yes they do have the power to step into disputes where the national interest is at risk, but QF is a private company, not a gov't department, thus stepping in and medling carries risks for gov't co beyond just upsetting unions.

I found it more damning of the unions than damning of QF. It shows that QF is an at risk airline and the Unions are not helping by advocating using another airline.

The only gripe seems to be the delays and industrial actions - not sure what other real problems the writer has faced.

It really is no surprise that the bus is cheaper syd-cbr than flying. In fact, usually you can find a return bus fare for $30.

He can't find ways to use his points for business seats yet he has 350,000 points? Really? I don't think he knows how to use the website properly. I'm more than happy to take those points off his hands if it helps.

He also says he is letting his QP status lapse and will lose his elite status.
So obviously PS and not high on the pecking order for points upgrade.
However even with my QPNB status I have been able to snag J awards.Even to LOTFAP.

He's specifically talking about using those points to *upgrade* to business seats -
"I have 350,000 Qantas frequent-flyer points but will never again subject myself to the indignity of Qantas roulette in trying to use points to upgrade. Accessing business class seats on Qantas using points has proved to be impossible."

But yeah, I'd happily take them off his hands too :-)

The simple thing is with 350,000 ff points he'd be able to get a return PE or J class award without too much trouble to almost anywhere since he never won the lottery... The trick for using them would have been to log on and check award availablility prior to booking any flights. I know it's not the best use of points, but it's certainly not a bad way to use them.

I seem to remember this journalist having a major whinge about Qantas some time ago. Maybe it was a year ago, when he had the last bad international flight. His article really does wander, and I agree in most cases its more anti union than anti Qantas.
Hope he will enjoy his future catching Air Asia and Tiger flights, and buses.

It repeats Joyce's misinformation. Regardless of relative pay, Qantas long haul A380 pilots have no peers at Virgin Australia.

100% right ric. It seems that precious paul is upset that him being a journalist doesn't mean that he gets exactly what he wants, when he wants.

I've linked his previous whinge for reference. Interestingly, when i googled his name 'paul sheehan right wing' was one of the suggested matches, which gave me a good laugh.
