Hi...I'm considering flying QR MEL-DOH-LHR-DOH-MEL next year...Looking at First Class, but note that QR uses business cabin on the MEL-DOH-MEL leg booked in D.

Two thoughts here...If they make OW by the time I travel, can I use the QF 1st class lounge in MEL?...and even if they don't...which lounge can I use in DOH and LHR?...and...any word on intro of 1st class on MEL-DOH?

Appreciate your responses.

Regards

Both the QF lounges are closed at the time the QR flight leaves.

even if the australian lounges were open, and if QR was a member of oneworld by then, you would not be permitted to use the first class lounge if your departing flight was in business class (unless you held oneworld emerald status).

in London they use the London heathrow premium lounge, and in DOH thay have a private terminal for first class which you are taken directly to from the aircraft.

the QR website has lounge information for each city.

According to the QR website you will use the Air NZ Lounge in MEL (along with the 78 other airlines that use it) which would be staying open for the midnight TG flight (among others).

Many thx...all clear now....so if I can ask a follow up?

If I arrive in DOH from MEL on J..but my onward flight to LHR is in F, which lounge do I use...The F or the QR J?...and vice versa in DOH arriving from LHR on F but onward flight to MEL in J?

Regards
Ishin

When the next flight is F, definitely F lounge/terminal... but don't think you can get into the F lounge after arriving, it's not an arrivals lounge ;)
