I'm still waiting for my status match to come through. I saw a while ago that some people where getting into the VA lounge by showing their QF status card - is this still active? I'd love to test out the lounge next week (if my status match hasn't come through).

Am looking at transferring a lot of my travel in 2012 to DJ - slightly cheaper for the routes I travel plus easier for me to maintain status and (hopefully) quieter lounges with less business travellers (for the moment at least). Would like to suss it out before I commit though.

Anybody got any comparisons to make between the QF and DJ lounges (recent comparisons only)?

It still appears to be running. You also may be able to get a status match done on the spot.

There is a little bit of discussion currently going in this thread, relevant if you frequent the QP J lounges.

Personally I find that staff are usually much friendlier, and willing to assist requests such as moving to an earlier flight for free (before this was a written benefit for VA). My experience of the lounges is that they have been reasonably quiet for the most part. Little things like bringing nibbles & hot food out to you, as well as all day barista make the difference for me.

I wouldn't say one is better than the other though, I still love showing the BNE QP dragons my BP and strolling into the J lounge in my polo and shorts much to their disgust.

Just walk into the lounge, explain that you have requested a match online, you should be given a temp card, enjoy, and dont forget to use the AFF priority toaster queue!
