Lounge access without card?

If I'm not mistaken even after you get the new card, you'll still need to reactivate with the new Qantas cash card to transfer it across. I assumed until this is done, the old card keeps working (the Qantas Cash part have a longer e.g. 1-2 months expiry compared to the QFF part).

Yes, that's what I had assumed but the woman at QF call centre was quite certain that what I outlined above was the case. It does seem extremely strange to me.

The front and back of the card are basically completely separate from each other - the expiry date on one has nothing to do with the expiry date on the other. As long as the QC part has been activated it will keep working until it expires, irrespective of your FF status.

Thanks, I agree that does make perfect sense. I suspect that the part of her head through which the call centre person was talking might not have been the front. I'll try using the card while away, but also have a backup.
