Noob question here. Pretty sure I know the answer but I'm asking anyway.

I've used frequent flyer points to upgrade from domestic economy to business class on Qantas. Does that give me access to a Qantas lounge? Or is that something reserved for "real" business class passengers?

You are a "real" business class passenger and you get access to the business lounge. :)

I would assume if you checked-in as a J passenger, you get access to the J lounge, which is even better than the QP :D

I guess similarly, if you were in the QP somehow and upgraded there, you’d also be given access to the J lounge, 'where available'.

There are only a few J lounges, and a heck of a lot more QPs across Australia.

So I amend my comment to be, you get J lounge access where available

But if you aren't Gold or a Qantas Club member than you will get a lounge.

If you have upgraded to business then you get to use the business check in plus the Qantas Lounge or Business lounge if available.
