Hi guys, think I know the answers already but as I'll be travelling with a 3yr old and 7 month old I'd prefer to be as prepared as possible.

VA WP travelling MEL-NAN - looks like we have to use the domestic VA lounge? Very annoying to have to use a lounge in a different terminal and before security / passport control.

NAN-MEL - looks like no lounge access for VA?

Thanks in advance

You are spot on with your reading of access. Since the NZ lounge changes, it's been the domestic lounge for NAN flights. Sadly there is nothing in NAN for return flights regardless of cabin class or status, which at least is consistent with all Pacific island originating flights though (one of the few things that are consistent with VA Lounge access!).

Hi Edge,

The Tabua Lounge at Nadi can be accessed with a Premium Pass if you have one. If you don't, then a Westpac Atitiude Black will get you one free of joining fee and 2 free admissions per year. We did this last year and found Tabua to be quite acceptable.

Cheers,

M.

Make that 'Priority Pass' and this is correct re: access, although that particular lounge is like an outdated Qantas Club, so I wouldn't be applying for a credit card or paying for a Priority Pass membership just for access. If you already have the right card, though, it's not entirely terrible (and you can buy the artwork off the wall if you particularly desire!). :)

I have altitude black, is the pass "built in" to the card - ie I show my card at the lounge? Or is there a separate lounge pass required?

You need to visit altitudeblack.com.au to obtain your Priority Pass according to the Bank's website.

Yep, and it can often take several weeks to arrive by post, so do allow ample time.

Priority Pass also has a digital card though which can be available instantly, but only of use in some lounges as not all accept it. You can look up an individual lounge in Priority Pass' search tool (type in NAN to get Nadi), and see if 'digital card accepted' is in the feature list. If yes, just enrol and you could have almost immediate access - if not, make sure you pack the plastic Priority Pass card. :)

However, different lounges have different rules regarding children - here, they could be allowed in for 'free' as a courtesy, or they may cost you $27USD p.p. You'd have to check with the lounge, but note that Westpac's Priority Pass offer only includes two unique visits (for the actual accountholder), which you can't change to be a single visit with a +1, if that makes sense. Any additional 'guests' are billed to the card: so if you visit a lounge and bring two people with you, you'll be billed 2x $27USD (unless that particular lounge doesn't consider children to be guests).
