You should check that the fare classes you have booked earn miles at the necessary level to attain *G. Some TK Y fare classes do not earn at all so you should double check what fares you have purchased and how many miles they will accrue, eg. If all your flights have a 50% accrual factor you will not earn enough for *G.

Aegean Airlines | Earn Miles

The OP is travelling with SQ in J SYD-SIN-IST which will be all they need to get *gold, 9306 miles each way + 2000 bonus tops the 20K, being J there is a further 25% bonus thats not needed.

Only 50% fare is IST-TBS, TK in V. Everything else is D on either SQ or TK.

Looking at this status issue. Will I still attain status flying SQ metal on Aegean Miles&Bonus?

Back on topic. As the brains trust (;)) did not come up with any solution to get me into the IST lounge and as the outcomes of meetings are probably more important than the cost of J to TBS I went ahead and purchased J IST-TBS. Better to arrive rested and relaxed. I think the change-over actually went down in the interim period ($562) so good all round. Next time I will schedule a few days in IST as it looks fascinating.

Thank you for all your suggestions.

I look forward to hearing about your visit.

There won't be much to report...meetings, visits to oil fields where we will soon drill (oil is seeping out of the ground a la Beverly Hillbillies), dinner the night I arrive with an ex-foreign minister whose first degree is in winemaking. I'm looking forward to an insight into the local product. :p
