Lounge access for OWS flying MH

I normally fly QF, especially when flying with the family. We're a family of 6 (2 adults 4 teenagers), and whilst I'm the only one with status (QF SG / OWS), QF has traditionally welcomed in my entire family into lounges even though the rules there are meant to be a max of a family of 4.

Later this year we're looking at going to KUL and SIN. I can find flights on QF which would do it, but MH is around $1500 cheaper. This would all be in Y (I know, a dirty letter around here).

How flexible is MH around lounge access? Would it be a case of I'm welcome, but the kids get to sit outside? Or are the lounge staff likely to let us all in depending on space available?

I flew MH KUL-HKT in Y last month.

By the book it should have been me +1.

But they allowed all three of us to enter the J lounge at KUL.

Might have just been lucky with the bloke at the desk of course.

For your scenario, with four teenagers, I’d suggest the chances are very low. Almost zero.

But you could consider at pay-per-use lounges which would still leave plenty of change from your $1,500 airfare saving.

Or skip the lounges and try one of the more upmarket eateries in the terminal. Even if the teenagers go hard on the food and drink, you still won’t spend all the $1,500.
