Well they say the 767 is built strong....good video and beautiful job by the crew!

A Boeing 767 with 231 people on board has made an emergency landing, skidding down the runway on its belly at Warsaw Airport after its landing gear failed. Fire and ambulance crews were deployed and all 220 passengers and 11 crew on the plane of national carrier LOT Polish Airlines were able to disembark safely.
"The Boeing 767-300 with 220 passengers aboard travelling from Newark [in the United States] made a successful emergency landing after its landing gear failed to deploy," LOT spokesman Leszek Chorzewski said.

Amazing stuff and well done to the crew.

My twisted brain thinks that if knew everyone was going to be OK at the end of this event, I would have liked to be a passenger on that flight or any flight where something bad happened but everyone gets away safely.... maybe I need professional help

PASA: At what point did you realise you had a problem with the undercarriage?

LOT Pilot: When I needed to apply full power to taxi off the runway.

I saw the Iran Air landing recently too, so there are some very good pilots about these days.

Loved this quote though:

The landing itself was so smooth that "we all thought we had landed on wheels," said Andrzej Pinno, a 68-year-old passenger.

Don’t think I’ve had a smooth landing in a Qantas 767 ever… perhaps they really should think about landing them with the gear up!

Smooth landings are not an indicator of a good landing, often they are pot luck, I would much father have a firm landing which indicates the pilot positive control over the descent.
