I had an AA flight from ORD-LAX, codeshare on QF. Got to the airport early in Chicago due to heavy rain, and was told that there were 70mph winds on their way and that the plane hadn't arrived yet. Was offered a seat on the next plane, which I took. Unfortunately there were no premium cabin seats free and I sat in Y (but had paid for J).

Just looking at my statement it seems I got 80SC (?) for LAX-ORD but only 40 for the economy leg.

Am I entitled to more SCs for the Y leg considering I paid for J? Or have they given me too much for the other AA flight and am I about even?

Worth pursuing? (keeping in mind that unlike some other posts I am very reluctant to spend a lot of time aggressively chasing something up just on 'principle', but if there is a high likelihood that I deserve it and will receive it I will send an email).

Long time viewer, 1st time contributor and have picked up masses of tips from this forum so thought I should contribute at some stage!

Ok, exact same thing happened to me last Dec ex France via LHR. Due UK snow, was re-routed from BA/QF to LX/SQ via zrh/sin. On return no SC or points credited after 3weeks. 5 min call to QF FF explained situation and points credited instantly with OK from agent's supvr. Note: was only bronze at the time too!

Lastly, enrolled Krisflyer and double dipped the points after getting the idea from one of these chats.

Make the call!

Contacting QFF and asking for "Original Routing Credit" is the standard way to go. I do suggest you avoiod mentioning a voluntary change.

FWIW, did your original ORD-LAX flight make it on time?

This is exactly why complimentary upgrades are rubbish. Actual premium pax get bumped by freebie upgrades.

Just checked on flight aware - it was cancelled. I'm not too fussed about the complimentary upgrades as eventually I will probably be entitled to them myself. Anyway all that matters is I got home in time in the end.
