Flying from HBA to MEL on Sunday. Scanned my BP when boarding commenced and was one of the last to do so. Stood on top of mobile footbridge and waited for the passengers in front of me to step into the aircraft. It was very windy weather and in getting my BP out of my jacket pocket, I lost complete control of it. It flew off and onto the tarmac. Fortunately it was retrieved by a ground crew member and the journey commenced and was completed without further incident. Stupid of me to not have a good grip on the sucker, but it really was quite windy.
What I would like to know is, what would have happened had it been hailing or raining and the BP was ruined and illlegible?

They would have verified your details with the manifest or reprinted one more BP inside ( I thought the title indicated something to do with the disaster in the US for a second ;) )

Really? It would have been that easy?
I thought I would have been marched back down the tarmac in handcuffs ().
Thanks for the info Mark, it was probably a dumb question to begin with.
