Losing Gold....QPub reinstatement question

Hi, I'm not going to requalify for Gold when my status year runs out on 31 January so I should get the remainder of my QP membership (until April). QFF have confirmed that's how it will work but I have a trip to the US in early February and want to access the QC here in SYD on the way out and leaving LAX on the way back. I've called QFF a couple of times to see if the cards will make it to me before I go and I keep getting differing advice every time I talk to someone. I know even if I don't physically have the cards on the way out that I should be able to access the QP as it's a "Qantas Club", my concern is more around if the cards don't make it to me by the time we leave whether I'll be able to access the Lounge in LAX for the return trip without having cards. The last person at Qantas that I spoke to said it will be fine as they can 'look it up' but given I've had a number of differing advices I thought check here to see if anyone could give me a steer on access.

Your boarding pass will say qantas club silver when you drop down.

Also the dragons can look up your membership if required at the lounge.

Of course if you've been an SG for awhile you may even be comped for another year. That would solve lots of problems.

I wish....got comped this year so doubt there's any chance of that.....the joy's of changing roles at work!

In SYD they can give you a temporary card, which while it wont look good, might help a little.

Generally an end Jan expiry would elicit a comp/please advise travel letter in December - that time has passed.

SWMBO downgraded from SG to PS after the end of October - she received three things of note in her PS pack:

- PS Card
- QP card expiring end of Jan
- Lounge Invitation valid 'til end of November

She had no QP when she first received SG (it had expired and we did not renew given she was getting the access in any case).
